Why an API key and not my ChatGPT/Claude login?
- Apps can't sign in to your ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription — those logins only work in the companies' own apps.
- API keys are the official way to connect other apps. You pay per use; personal notes cost very little.
- To use your subscription instead, open any entry and choose Send to chat app — it opens ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and others with your note in the chat box.
